Miko Peled is an American-Israeli publicist, author, activist and fighter for human rights. He was born into a well-known Zionist family and raised to fight for the Zionist state. His father was Matti Peled, a general of the Israeli army, a Zionist, the commander of the Israeli army in battles with the Palestinians.
Miko Peled wrote the book „The General's Son“. The father, a general, turned from an ardent Zionist and soldier into an ardent peace activist, negotiator and interlocutor of the Palestinians. His father fought for the idea of two states – Palestine and Israel – and begged to give up the armed struggle. The son does not believe in his father's ideal – that the two nations can come to an agreement through peaceful means, politics, negotiations, so he says: „Such a solution is neither sustainable nor fair!“
His grandfather, Avraham Katsnelson, was a signatory of the Israeli Declaration of Independence and his father was a commander in the 1948 war. Then the general, as the Palestinians called him, became „Abu Salam – father of peace“.
Miko Peled's journey is incredible: he was a colonizer of Palestine and then became an emigrant to Palestine. He belongs to the B. D. S. movement – boycott, divestment, sanctions and because of that, he is banned from entering Israel.
When a suicide bomber killed his sister's 13-year-old daughter, Peled said: „Let's tell the truth: we occupied another nation and that's why this is happening!“
Peled is looking for a solution in the dialogue between Jews, Palestinians and Americans in America. He claims that the occupation of the West Bank ended a long time ago, that Israel does not want any other state but Israel.
Peled: „I'm a Jew, I'm not brave! Palestinians are brave! Palestine has been ethnically cleansed for 75 years! Israel is a paper tiger – a deeply racist, apartheid state.“

Peled: „Zionism is a racist, supremacist ideology – everything that is contrary to Jewish law. Zionism is not Judaism! The most religious Jews completely reject Zionism! The Zionists break the first two commandments of God; they ask for killing and stealing! Jews have a conscience! There is no possibility for two states! One state must be established – Palestine. It has existed for a thousand years… On the 7th of October we saw that the Israeli army was completely exposed as a tower of paper!
The Israeli government must demonstrate that they are capable of removing Hamas! They have no strategic, military goal! It's a question of savagery, revenge! I hope someone sends the ambassador of Israel home!

There is no possibility for two states – that's a myth! The only possibility is to dissolve the apartheid state and to create a free, democratic Palestine within its historical borders. The story of two states is a myth for Israelis! Palestine was called Palestine for thousands of years. Why wouldn't it still be called that? I do not think that Israel as a name has legitimacy! The name Palestine must be returned! The US and Europeans are complicit in these crimes. When the moment comes for the Hague Tribunal to judge – Biden, the Europeans, the British should be on the dock! They provide material and military support to the aggressors!“
