Gradska uprava glavnog grada Katara, Dohe, počela je da farba gradske puteve u plavo, u okviru pilot projekta za borbu protiv ekstremnih vrućina.
“Temperatura tamnog asfalta je 20 stepeni Celzijusa viša od stvarne temperature, jer crna privlači i zrači toplotu”, rekao je gradski inženjer Dohe Saad el Doseri, prenosi katarski list „Raja“.
A pilot project has been launched by the Public Works Authority to paint the Abdullah Bin Jassim Street near Souq Waqif in blue to reduce the temperature of the asphalt by 15 – 20°C.

Prema njegovim riječima, farbanje asfalta pomoći će da se temperatura smanji za 15-20 stepeni, ali i da se poveća životni vijek premaza.
Trenutno su putevi ofarbani samo na jednoj od centralnih ulica grada gdje temperatura zbog nedostatka drveća može da poraste i do 50 stepeni Celzijusa.
